Case Studies
MOSH Noise case studies provide real-world insights into successful noise management initiatives and leading practice adoption across the South African mining industry. Developed alongside the Leading Practice Adoption Guideline, these case studies analyse individual operations, considering their context, safety culture and environmental factors, to highlight key lessons learned.
These case studies serve as practical resources for industry members seeking to implement similar strategies and improve noise control outcomes on their own sites.
It was indicated during the launch of the remote tyre deflation simple leading practice that employees are exposed to noise emissions greater than the required OHS milestone during tyre deflation. Khwezela embarked on a process of quantifying the level of noise exposure during the deflation of various tyre sizes used on the mine to determine whether the noise risk was applicable to the operation.
